I've been going to the this dentist office for nearly a decade, and I would try to continue coming here even if I no longer resided in the tristate region. Their compassion, courtesy and attention to detail are unparalleled. I cannot overstate how satisfied I am with their work.
People hate going to the dentist. I don't. I'd even say I enjoy it. And that is all to the credit of the lovely people at Gramercy Smiles. Julia is my hygienist and she's so thorough, gentle and explains everything in detail. She takes the time to get to know her patients, and I look forward to seeing her each visit. They have a “holistic approach to dentistry” and give you a goodie bag each time with natural products like a bamboo toothbrush, charcoal toothpaste and more. You even get a hot lavender towel at the end of every cleaning! Best dentist ever.
I LOVE Gramercy Smiles. Everyone is so so nice, and they make you feel extremely comfortable. The office is lovely and super convenient to the 6 or R/W. Every doctor and hygienist I've had has been so wonderful. Especially if you feel a lot of stress about going to the dentist, Gramercy Smiles will put you at ease!
Simply wonderful. It doesn't get any better than that! You won't be disappointed. Not only are they excellent dentists but they are warm and treat you like a member of their family.
Best dentist I've had! Marina is great, top professional and the service is at its top. Staff is amazing and very kind. Even when I moved further away from the area, I still keep coming only here. Very much recommended!
I rarely post on Yelp but felt compelled to based on my experiences with Gramercy Smiles. As someone who dreads going to the dentist in general, I was so taken aback my the approach of the staff at Gramercy smiles. The team at Gramercy Smiles recognizes that going to the dentist can create anxiety for some. After sharing some of my fears with the hygienist and dentist (yes, i'm a big baby), they immediately calmed my fears. Dr. Sonya is such an amazing, patient and kind dentist. She doesn't make you feel bad about anything. My experience with Marina the hygienist was also wonderful. I'm grateful for this experience. If you are someone who puts off going to the dentist out of fear, give Gramercy Smiles a shot. =)
To begin I'd like thank doctor Mats and her team for doing such a great job. I have never been so at ease at a dental office. Always terrified of seeing the dentist but Dr Matt has changed that for me and I am very appreciative for that. She asked me if I was feeling ok, and yet she has such a gentle touch I did not even feel a thing.
Last but not least the customer service was awesome. The dental staff is very sweet and friendly. They welcomed me with my name and made me feel like family right from the sart. The dental assistant made me feel extremely relaxed and comfortable as well.
After the phenomenon experience I'd say this is the only dental office I'll go to and would highly recommend it to everyone else!

I am obsessed with my dentist. Did I just say that? After around 25 years of intense fear of any dental procedure, I've found the dentist that makes all of my nervousness go away. I recommend Gramercy Smiles to everyone.
Genetically, I have pretty weak teeth and the dental insurance that my parents had when I was growing up wasn't the best. I had tons of cavities and needed a crown after cracking a tooth on a popcorn kernel before I was even in high school. For a long time, the dentist was just equated to pain and suffering. Combine that with shoddy dentistry, I've spent a few years cleaning up the work of my childhood dentists.
Gramercy Smiles has worked with me for the past 2 years to get my house in order. Every cleaning I have there leaves my mouth feeling great and the hygienists remember you from the other times you come in. Say what you will, but having someone remember the conversation we had last time makes me feel like I'm not a client you're shuffling through the system. Importantly, they're realistic about the urgency of dental work and how they can work with insurance to benefit you. I've gotten fillings fixed, learned the root canal I had done from that darn popcorn kernel was incomplete and worked with them for a crown replacement to correct the one that has been improperly sitting in my mouth. They've gone above and beyond in so many ways that I can't see myself using another dentist ever again.
I had a wonderful experience on my first trip to Gramercy Smiles. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in lower Manhattan.
I recently switched jobs, and so now I have a different dental insurance provider than I did when I started going to Gramercy Smiles. Frankly... I don't care that I am now out of network!
I will continue giving them my business as ALL of the staff is phenomenal. Every single person behind the front counter is super sweet and awesome at what they do. Each hygienist is friendly and quick, and all of the dental work that I have gotten done has been done with patience and care.
I got a chip filling today, and the dentist didn't like the awkward color match, so what did she do?
She started over so that I could have an even looking smile.

Dentists and staff here are so friendly and all the procedures I've had done (wisdom tooth extraction, fillings, root canal) have been great. Only downside is my insurance doesn't cover a lot so it ends up being very expensive.
I typically don't give 5 stars until I've had a minimum of 3 positive experiences in a row, however I really think this place is the BEST! I forgot how I was introduced to this company but ever since then, our relationship has been amazing. There is open lines of communication, their level of patience and graciousness is unbelievable, and I work in the customer services industry, so I know. I had an appointment for cleaning and not only did they take complete X-Rays, but they took the time to explain everything that they saw and made recommendations. All my questions were answered and I felt at ease. I came back a few weeks later for a scheduled filling, my train was delayed thanks to the MTA, but I called to advise them and they were so patient and understanding. My filling was painless, and I was made to feel at ease the entire time. I wish I could go here for all my medical needs. Long story short, the team at Gramercy Smile have made it so that I am looking forward to my next cleaning in 6 months.
Everyone at GramercySmiles is as nice as can be. The techs are lovely and walk to through everything they are doing to make you feel comfortable. I've seen all of their dentists over the past few years and they are all great. They truly care about your overall wellbeing, not just dental hygiene. I have a challenging work schedule and their Saturday appointments help a lot.
Dr Mats is the best! She made me feel at home and I hate going to the dentist. I think I found my long term dentist! Can't be happier!
I called Gramercy Smiles about a month ago when I broke a tooth. They called me back right when they opened (I called in the early morning), had me explain my situation, and had me send them pictures to decide if it was urgent enough for me to come in immediately. It was, and they fit me in on the same day. I ended up having to go back a few times to get the problem completely fixed and they were always able to set me up with convenient appointment times (and the wait time is almost non-existent).
They are just fantastic all around. Milana at the front desk went way out of her way on that first day going back and forth with me all day to make sure my teeth would get taken care of, and everyone there has treated me the same way. They were able to set me up with a line of credit so that I could afford the procedure that I needed. I just can't say enough good things about how professional and accommodating they are. Dr. Sonya, who I saw first, and Dr. Tadros who fixed my teeth (and made them look fantastic- you can't tell that half of my tooth is fake) were both wonderful. After 3.5 years of living in the city I have finally found my dentist!
I actually saw Dr Sonia while there, but the experientce all around was great. Very friendly staff, doctor patientely explained every detail of the treatment and gladly answered all my questions. Facility very clean as well. Will definitely be coming back.

I was greeted immediately upon arrival with a warm smile and a happy receptionist. My appointment was quick, but I didn't feel rushed or hurried. My technician took their time and was also very friendly. Once I saw the the doctor she was really thorough. Spoke to me and explained everything that was going on. She was warm and welcome and was very professional.
This office is always busy, and for good reason everyone here is super friendly and do an excellent job. I've even had to get fillings here before and i didn't feel a thing. I use to be so scared of the dentist but now i don't mind going. Thanks guys!!
I didn't have to wait and she gave me honest advice. Many times I feel like dentists try to push pricey procedures and this was not the case with this dentist.

I've been avoiding going to the dentist for years, and finally bit the bullet and scheduled a consultation visit at Gramercy Smiles. Wasn't aware that a consultation did not include a cleaning with the hygienist, but they stayed open later and a hygienist was able to squeeze me in before they closed. Marina had a great bedside manner, was friendly, and didn't scold me too much for putting off the dentist for so long. Facilities are clean. Highly recommend.
With Dr. Mats and her colleagues, I actually don't mind, dare I say like, going to the Dentist, something that I haven't enjoyed since I had my first teeth. They make you feel comfortable and they don't make me feel bad about not taking care of my teeth as well as I should. Everyone is really friendly. I look forward to returning!

This is my 3rd time visiting this office and my experience has always been pleasant. I arrived a few minutes late for my appointment but was taken to the doctor right away upon my arrival. Dr Marina was through cleaning my teeth while being very friendly and ensuring I did not feel any pain or discomfort. The staff took the time to properly exam my teeth, answer my questions, and make appropriate recommendations. I highly recommend this venue and staff. Superb!
Dr. Mats was very kind and thorough. I really enjoyed that she took the time to explain everything to me and even gave me a mirror to point out things she was seeing and recommending. The whole process was efficient and timely and I was seen right away.

It was my first appointment at Gramercy Smiles. Reception desk people were very pleasant and professional. Scheduled for cleaning but I could also get the check up done. Dental hygienist was very nice and Dr. Mats was wonderful.

Very down to earth. Everyone was friendly, from the front desk to the hygienist Elena to Dr. Mats herself. I left the office with practical knowledge on how to care for my teeth, and have started to floss because of my visit. I used to hate going to the dentist, but now I can't wait to go back.
Dr. Mats was great as was the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. Very nice and kept me verbally posted on everything she was doing. Really made me a part of the process and feel knowledgeable.
Before I met the good people at Gramercy Smiles, I was terrified of dentist. I mean seriously terrified,and untrustworthy. But now I'm in love with them!! First of all the staff at the front desk are courteous, friendly, and helpful. They make you feel welcome and valued. That's a plus for me and you. Second of all, the place feels “holistic”, sort of a “your in good hands” feeling to it. This is very important to me because I've had horror stories with Dentist. After going thru the motions of filling out the necessary paperwork, I was introduced to the dental hygienist, Marina. I was nervous as nervous can be, since I have to admit I've avoided the dentist office since, Gulp, 2009... Ouch! Needless to say Marina made me feel relax, safe and In good hands. She totally mesmerized me! Perhaps it was her blue eyes or her kindness. Marina was attentive, caring, concern and diligent. I can honestly say that she has made my experience at a dentist office reassuring and most of all bearable. Needless to say I need to go back for more work( this is what happens when you neglect the dentist for years) but with this experience thank you Gramercy Smiles for once again making my teeth feel whole.
Great, thorough dentist!! She answered all of my questions, gave helpful suggestions for my oral routine and made sure I understood what we were looking at when viewing my XRays. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Very informative and she really listened to my concerns. Went back to get a tooth extraction. Best experience I've had in a long time...wish I had found the office sooner.
I went into the office for a usual checkup and ended up needing an emergency root canal. A dental hygienist did my cleaning, and my check up, and then I was passed along to a dentist who started the root canal. The first dentist was very nice and professional but an hour and a half into my root canal and after countless extra Novocain shots she went to get Dr. Mats (who runs the practice). I then had Dr. Mats for the rest of my visits to finish my root canal (4 visits in total). Dr. Mats has a very soft touch and did an incredibly thorough job. I made the appointment expecting to see her but it seems she only gets involved on a needed basis. With that said everyone at Gramercy Smiles is great.
Very sweet and professional team. They are direct with consultative advice, but also friendly and understanding. No insurance issues, no overselling, and the most painfree cleaning I've ever had. I'll be back!
Great dentist I embarrassingly hadn't been to the dentist in two years and was afraid of being completely reamed out; she was professional, supportive and highly transparent around her diagnosis and treatment recommendation. To top it off, she's incredibly friendly and approachable. I have found my new dentist!

Everything was very well organized. This was my first visit and it couldn't have gone better. I walked in and had to fill out the usual forms for a first time patient. Once I filled out the forms I was immediately taken to the back. I had xrays taken and got a cleaning. I was never waiting more than a couple minutes for the next step in the process. Extremely happy with my visit and would recommend to friends.
Dr. Mats is outstanding & I would highly recommend her. I had what I would call an “evil” tooth that just wouldn't quit and eventually I needed a root canal. Dr. Mats has true empathy for her patients and knows the pain & anxiety associated with dental work. She is highly skilled, knowledgeable and to this day is the only dentist that can numb me with one try. I'm thankful I chose her & I know my root canal is being done correctly. The staff is really friendly. Thumbs up all around.
